Support the Real Love Campaign

I will share my love to the kids of Kythe by inciting my friends, peers and relatives to join in cancer support programs like Real Love Campaign. I believe that letting the person with cancer know we are all in this for the long haul will save lives. Support group networks can help people feel less isolated and distressed, and improve the quality of their lives.

The battle against cancer involves more than the body; the mind, emotions and spirit are affected as well. Cancer patients and their families need to deal with the physical, spiritual and emotional issues as they face the demands of coping with a serious illness.

Because childhood cancer is relatively rare, there are limited support centers that specialize in the treatment of children with cancer. Hence, there is a need for more appropriate treatment and support programs for the child and the child's family to address issues on survicing childhood cancer survival.

Khyte, a Scottish word that means "healing by simple sharing and togetherness," is the name of one of the cancer support groups based at the East Avenue Medical Center in Quezon City.

Kythe Foundation, is a non-stock, non-profit organization, that aids in promoting psycho-social care for cancer and terminally-ill pediatric patients in the Philippines. Kythe Inc. aims to strengthen hope in children battling cancer and their families thru various educational & support programs.

Unilever Foodsolutions partnered with Kythe to roll out the new 5.5L mayo tubs of Best Foods and Lady’s Choice to its operators to share in this mission. In the Real Love Campaign, Unilever Foodsolutions and its operators do outreach programs that have fun healthy sandwich making activities, arts and crafts and storytelling sessions to the kids with cancer in Kythe’s partner hospitals.

You can do your share in the Real Love Campaign by joining its official Facebook page. With every 1,000 “Like” entries until it reaches 10,000 fans, Unilever Foodsolutions will donate 1,000 sandwiches to the different Kythe partner hospitals.

In line with this campaign, Unilever Foodsolutions also partnered with Team Manila to come up with a specially designed, limited-edition shirt which will be available in Team Manila outlets in Rockwell, SM Mall of Asia, Trinoma and online through its website. It retails for 550 pesos. Part of the proceeds will benefit Kythe Foundation for kids with cancer.

Support Kythe Inc. the children battling cancer and their families by joining volunteer and sponsorship opportunities at East Ave. Medical Center Tumor Clinic East Ave. QC 922-6370 or visit www.kythe.org for more information.
